Privacy Policy

Overview

CHADLAB is a community game connected to the CHADLAB YouTube channel. This policy explains what information the game processes when viewers appear in the Petri dish, visit the website, or authenticate with Google and YouTube.

Information we process

• Public YouTube information, including channel ID, display name, public comments, comment dates, like counts, and reply counts.
• When you authorize YouTube read-only access, your verified YouTube channel ID and whether that channel subscribes to CHADLAB.
• Game information, including character identity, appearance, position, food, experience, level, activity time, interactions, and progression history.
• Technical information necessary to operate the service, including session cookies, request timestamps, security events, and service logs.

CHADLAB does not request your Google password. OAuth access tokens are used only during the authorization callback and are not stored by CHADLAB.

How information is used

• Create and update bacteria based on public CHADLAB YouTube participation.
• Verify that a viewer owns the YouTube channel associated with a bacteria.
• Calculate progression from comments, engagement, passive activity, shared food, and website play.
• Display public character profiles, leaderboards, shared movement, and community events.
• Prevent fraud, duplicate rewards, unauthorized claims, abuse, and cheating.
• Operate, monitor, improve, and secure the service.

Public visibility

Bacteria profiles and leaderboards are part of the public community experience. Your YouTube display name, character statistics, appearance, colony membership, and progression may be visible to other visitors. CHADLAB does not publish your Google email address.

Storage and service providers

Production data is stored in Microsoft Azure. Cloudflare provides DNS and network services, and Google provides YouTube API and OAuth services. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. CHADLAB does not sell personal information.

Cookies and sessions

CHADLAB uses a secure, HTTP-only session cookie to keep a verified owner signed in. This cookie is required for claiming and controlling a bacteria. The game does not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

Retention and deletion

Game and YouTube-derived progression is retained while the character exists or as needed for security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. You may revoke Google access from your Google Account at any time. To request deletion, follow the instructions on the data deletion page.

Children

CHADLAB is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through Google authentication.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the game evolves. Material changes will be posted here with a revised date. Privacy questions may be sent to the user support contact shown on the CHADLAB Google OAuth consent screen or through the CHADLAB YouTube channel's published business contact.
